Corporate compliance

Compliance refers to the correct behavior of a company and its employees—legally, economically, and ethically. Every company is obliged to comply with a multitude of rules and laws in all its actions, both internally and externally. Violations result in sanctions, including criminal prosecution, economic disrepute, and loss of existence. This applies without exception to all companies of all sizes in all industries. The larger a company is and the more international its activities are, the more complex the rules it must comply with. It is therefore in the vital interests of every company to have an internal or external specialist, who is not bound by instructions, continuously monitor correct corporate behavior and, if necessary, adapt it to the latest regulations. Compliance therefore functions as a kind of insurance to prevent possible violations of rules or laws, or at least to limit their effects.

Criminal acts in business are becoming increasingly important for companies. Regardless of whether guilt or innocence is ultimately established at the end of a criminal investigation, such cases cause high material damage and immense reputational losses.
