Every employee is entitled to the statutory minimum vacation. The statutory minimum vacation is 24 working days. Employees who work 5 days a week have a mandatory annual vacation entitlement of 20 vacation days. The full vacation entitlement is acquired in the first year of service after six months of employment. In subsequent years, there is no need to reach a new waiting period, so that the annual vacation entitlement is already earned in full on the first day of a calendar year.
The annual vacation entitlement must be taken by December 31 of the year in question, otherwise it will expire. Only in exceptional cases will vacation entitlement be carried over to the following year.
If an employee still has remaining vacation entitlement when their employment relationship ends, they can request payment of this.
