The part-time bridging scheme was only introduced on January 1, 2019. It allows an employee to work part-time for a certain period of time. This gives the employee a guaranteed right to return to full-time work.
However, not every employer is required to grant this. There are corresponding requirements for the company. At least there is no obligation to provide a reason, but deadlines must be observed and the application must include certain information.
